Visa Information

The benefits for working at GCIS are:
Eligible Applicants
• Be a citizen of a country where English is the primary language. (U.S.A, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, Ireland and South Africa only)
• Applicants must be a native speaker or have studied from the junior high level (7th grade) and resided for at least 10 years or more in the country where English is the primary language.
• Applicants must graduate and hold at least a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school. A degree from a French-speaking university is not a sufficient qualification to teach English. A temporary degree or graduation letter from University is not acceptable.
Process
STEP1Submit the following documents to the school to get your Visa Issuance Number
- Apostilled and notarized copy of your degree
- Two sets of sealed academic transcripts
- Notarized criminal background check
- Health check statement
- Photocopy of your passport
- Updated resume
- Signed contract
- Four passport-sized photos
- Two letters of recommendation
Send these documents via registered mail and keep a copy of the invoice and tracking number.
STEP2The school will process your documents with the Ministry of Justice and immigration to get your Visa Issuance Number, which usually takes 7-10 business days.
STEP3Once the school has your Visa Issuance Number, they will email it to you.
STEP4Send your completed visa application form and the following documents to your local Korean consulate.
- Completed E-2 Visa Application Form
- Passport (with at least 6 months validity and 1 empty page)
- One passport-sized photo
- Confirmation of Visa Issuance Number (VIN) This will be written on your visa application form.
- One set of sealed transcripts
- Consul’s Checklist (a two-page document that needs to be filled out)
- Visa Fee
Check with your consulate for any additional requirements.
STEP5After processing, the consulate will return your passport with your visa.
